Hoping someone in the forums can help me. Just purchased the latest TB3 Mac Mini dock. Overall it works great, HOWEVER... I am having slow NVME1 Writes that our capping at 400MB or less. Let me give the background.
I am using Intel Mac Mini 2018 with Bootcamp. (MacOS side and Windows 10Pro side)
Using Samsung 990 Pro 4tb in the NVME1 Port.
When on MacOS side the Read/Write speeds work perfect so lets not bring up or discuss Mac this is only Windows 10 Side.
Since it the read/write was working on Mac side I assume it was my windows 10 image that maybe having a problem. So I killed the bootcamp partion and recreated with fresh Windows 10 22H2 image. As soon as it came up I used a speed test on the 990 pro and did get fast write speeds... once. After that some updates occurred and the write speeds on the 990 pro dropped down to 400mb or less again. Read is still in the 2000's.
I was able to find the most recent thunderbolt drivers for my Thunderbolt 15EB controller dated 7/23 and they successfully installed. However that made no changes and the write speeds on the drive are still at 400 mb.
Has anyone had any experience using windows to get the write speeds to the correct throughput.
This is clearly not a Trebleet equipment issue as I am also experiencing the same results using my external Thunderbolt Samsung X5 and only getting 400 mb write speeds.
Really hoping someone here can chime in and tell me if they experienced this and were able to correct the issue.
I feel like this is a setting or something a windows update did because once upon a time, the X5 did get high write speeds but now all thunderbolt device drives are only getting 400 or less write speeds.
Hi there, We've not tried bootcamp from our end here. But if you've got a free SSD, you may try to format it to either:- APFS - for Mac OS
or NFTS - for Windows OS environment usage, it should work like how it should be. But I hope other users here who has used bootcamp can shed more light in this. =) -CW
