I've been using the dock as a port extender and it has worked beautifully. I tried putting in a samsung 980 pro m2 ssd and it seemed to install ok. When I reattached the dock my mac didn't recognize it. I tried restarting, etc. So I took the ssd out and the dock is still not recognized. Is it possible that the installation of the drive messed up the dock somehow?
I think it is getting power but without a power light I can't be sure. Anyway I reattached all the cables.
Feedback would be appreciated. Right now the dock is useless to me.
I'm attaching a photo of the SSD Installation before I removed it.
Did this problem get resolved? If so how?
Hello Rod, Thank you for contacting us and we're sorry to hear that.
1) Can you please confirm with us if the power block is connected normally? Can you please try another wall socket to see if it's the wall sockets' issue?
2) Is the power button switched on? (there's a power button on the back)
3) Is the Thunderbolt 3/USB4 cable connecting to your device, being plugged into the right port? ( please see attached)
[The above 3 steps were to rule out if the power block is functioning like how it should, as well as if the Thunderbolt 3/USB4 cable is connecting to the device correctly.] 4) Can you please connect the power block, switching on the dock, connect your phone via the USB cable to the dock and see if there's any charging going on? [This is to further confirm if there's power flowing through the Mac Mini Dock itself.]
Can you please try out the above and let us know the outcome? We will carry on from there after.
Hope to hear from you again soon.
