Hello,
I have four usb c ports on my 2019 macbook pro 15" and was using them all: charger, two video cameras, and one usb audio interface. For this reason i selected the TREBLEET Slim Thunderbolt 4 Hub.
Initially, i plugged the cameras and usb audio interface into the c ports and connected the included thunderbolt cable to my mac and we pleased. The mac charged and also seemed to connect the externals. Then my journey began.
One of the cameras though connected sent through no signal. I have purchased two thunderbolt cables as i was just using basic c cables and maybe that's the problem. But, for now, i have the audio interface connected to the hub and the cameras now going directly to the mac.
My next problem occurs because of some kind of intermittent disconnection. I hear the "ding" of charger cable connected (while recording), and when i look at the mac, i see the audio interface has disconnected and reconnected. This stops the recording session as i now have to open my DAW and reselect the audio interface. Upon every disconnect/reconnect (which is happening intermittently and automatically reconnecting without any action on my behalf), the DAW loses its interface selection, and i have to start over.
I read on Amazon someone saying the included thunderbolt cable they got wasn't good or was 4 and not 3, I don't know, but they returned it. I actually was owed $100 by my company and they purchased this for me so return isn't really an option here.
What is your thought on all this - is the charging hitting 100% and then disconnecting the cable connection which disconnects the hub attached audio interface? Also, should i expect the hub to transfer data fast enough via the included thunderbolt cable such that i can run two camera sn one audio interface to the mac?
Also, may I know if you do use another port for charging (usual power adapter), will the same 'ding ding' disconnections happen again? I will submit the case to our tech team once I heard back from your end and they'll be back after Chinese New Year Holidays, and be resumed working on the 07FEB2025. Hope to hear from you soon, Jay.
